The Tree of Lights is back up in front of Sainte-Justine for the 17th year in a row, ready to shimmer and sparkle for children and families from across Quebec.
Starting today and until December 12, people across Quebec are invited to spark hope for the children, families and teams of Sainte-Justine with a gift of $5 per light. The Tree of Lights will grow brighter every day as donations roll in. Rythme and METRO will once again be partnering with Sainte-Justine to strive to achieve a very important goal: make 600,000* lights twinkle on the Tree in support of Sainte-Justine’s ambition to build a better and healthier future for children and mothers-to-be.
Several wonderful allies have teamed up with Sainte-Justine to bring the majestic tree to life, namely CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation ambassador Guy A. Lepage, along with Anouk Meunier, Fred Pellerin and Fred’s daughter Marie-Fée.
You are lighting the way for them
Sainte-Justine is the rock that thousands of families from across the province cling to when their child is sick. This year’s young ambassadors Mia, Adam, Liam and Gabrielle have experienced firsthand the hope and magic that the Tree of Lights brings to the entire Sainte-Justine community.
Your lights at the end of the tunnel
Every year, thousands of parents like Fred Pellerin and Édith Lemay find themselves in a tunnel of fear, grief and uncertainty when their children are diagnosed with a serious health problem. By making more bulbs on the Tree shine, you will be sparking hope for a healthier future and bringing the promise of better days ahead.
“When you go through that thing called cancer with your child — that diagnosis, those words, those treatments — it really gets to you. It changes so much inside of you. And it brings you face to face with how fragile life really is.”
A ray of hope at Sainte-Justine
A sense of wide-eyed wonder is palpable in the ad for the 17th annual Sainte-Justine Tree of Lights campaign, which reminds us that many young patients will be spending the holidays in the hospital this year. The Tree of Lights will be the only tree they will be able to marvel at. Every twinkling light is a ray of hope — the hope that the carefree joys of childhood can be theirs once again.
“Hope will continue to shine bright, in my eyes and in my heart, for as long as possible. The Tree of Lights will be lit up for all of us throughout the holidays and inspire scientists the rest of the year. There’s a lot of magic in that. Thank you for being there for them, and for us!”
