$8 Million from the Sainte‑Justine Circle for the Neonatology Centre

The Sainte-Justine Circle announced yesterday that it had hit the $8-million mark in its commitment toward the CHU Sainte-Justine Centre of Excellence in Neonatology. They had been working toward this ambitious target since 2012. This amount is already making it possible to do wonderful things for our young patients. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this amazing undertaking over the years!

Yesterday, a group of donors and volunteers was on hand at Sainte-Justine, at the behest of co-chairs Chloé Teasdale and Catherine Sharp, to celebrate this remarkable achievement. They also took advantage of the opportunity to mark the 20th anniversary of the Sainte-Justine Circle.

Over the years, the committee has been a shining example of philanthropy, so much so that it is now a benchmark for excellence at the province-wide level. Founded in 1999, the Sainte-Justine Circle was one of the first young leaders committees to be created by a foundation in Quebec.

Their kickoff activity raised $17,000. Flash forward 20 years and the Circle has now raised a total of more than $13 million for Sainte-Justine through four signature events: the Winter Triathlon, the Sainte-Justine Ball, the Urban Duathlon and Lighting the Way.

Because you have been there for us, just as generous and determined from one year to the next, we are now making a tremendous difference in the lives of the families at Sainte-Justine.
Maud Cohen President and CEO CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation

In addition to everything it has made possible for the Centre of Excellence in Neonatology since 2012, the Sainte-Justine Circle’s commitment has resonated deeply with the surrounding community in the past 20 years. Their major contribution to new neuroscience laboratories, the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment and the continuous improvement of the on-site facilities and environment are just a few of the things the Circle has helped fund.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved since the beginning and who has served on various organizing committees. Their energy and enthusiasm have shown us just how powerful the next generation of philanthropists can be. They’re the reason the health of today’s children and tomorrow’s adults is in very good hands.

Here’s to many more years and events to come!
