Since 2020, the Youth Tree of Lights has kicked off Sainte-Justine’s Tree of Lights campaign. During the month of November, students from schools in the Fédération des établissements d’enseignement privés (FEEP) invite their family and friends to donate $5 per bulb to illuminate the base of the Tree of Lights and encourage the public to help light the tree all the way to the top.

This fourth edition of the Youth Tree of Lights set a new record, with over 200,000 bulbs shining brightly on the tree. The heartfelt stories of Anne-Marie, Élizabeth, Ethan, Romeo, Victoria, and Marie inspired a wave of solidarity among the participating schools.

Marie-Fée and Fred Pellerin: An illuminating tale

The 16th edition of the Sainte-Justine Tree of Lights soared to new heights, touching the hearts of donors from every corner of Quebec. The moving story of Marie-Fée and her father, beloved storyteller Fred Pellerin, deeply resonated with communities, inspiring generosity province-wide.

The families of Lou and Jules, Eli-Noah, Chloé, Émy, Mackenzie, and Jackson also shared their stories, amplifying the campaign’s impact. Several members of the CHU Sainte-Justine team, including Dr. Fabien Touzot and pediatric nurse clinician Sandrine Hubert, graciously contributed to making this edition a memorable success.

In total, over 750,000 lights—representing more than $3.75 million in donations—shone brightly on the Tree of Lights during the holiday season, bringing hope to thousands of families coping with illness.

The CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to its steadfast partner, Rythme, the official campaign broadcaster since the campaign’s inception, and METRO, its main partner for the past 10 years. The Foundation also wishes to highlight the invaluable contributions of its partners: MEGA, altona Diagnostics, La Famille du lait, Manulift, Québec Blue Cross, Cogeco Media, and Videotron, who are working to create a healthier world for our children.
