Since 1999, L’élan pour Sainte-Justine—formerly Cercle de Sainte-Justine—has been engaging the business community through impactful events that have become key highlights in Quebec’s philanthropic calendar. Over the past 25 years, the group has contributed more than $18 million to priority projects at CHU Sainte-Justine.
To mark 25 years of commitment, the committee has pledged to raise $16 million by 2028 as part of the Grow Beyond campaign. This bold new target reflects the unwavering dedication of the group members.
The unveiling of the committee’s new identity and ambitious goals took place at Above and Beyond: A Special Evening for Sainte-Justine, on March 22. Nearly 1,000 members of the business community gathered at the Cartier Theatre to celebrate the group’s 25 years of achievements and preview its future plans. The festive soirée raised over $410,000 for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, marking a promising start toward L’élan’s fundraising goal.
From its inception 25 years ago, the Cercle de Sainte-Justine established itself as a pioneering philanthropic movement in Quebec. With our bold commitment of $16 million, we will provide the momentum needed for CHU Sainte-Justine to reach new heights and ensure every child receives the best in pediatric care.
The Sainte-Justine Challenge and the Winter Triathlon, two rallying events organized by L’élan
In addition to the Above and Beyond event, L’élan pour Sainte-Justine also organizes the Sainte-Justine Winter Triathlon and the Sainte-Justine Challenge—two major fundraising initiatives that unite the business community each year in support of maternal and child health.
Last February, the 18th edition of the Sainte-Justine Winter Triathlon, presented by EY, featured around 100 four-person teams competing in skating, cross-country skiing, and running through Parc Maisonneuve’s trails. The event concluded with an impressive total of over $850,000 raised.
The Sainte-Justine Challenge, which held its 3rd edition on October 18, 2023, in downtown Montreal, raised over $565,000. Hundreds of superheroes donned their best capes to tackle the athletic and strategic challenges of this fun-filled day, presented by National Bank.
