The Cachou Tournament is the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation’s longest-running fundraising event. For 35 years, it has helped support the next generation of health professionals, accelerated research, and allowed the implementation of new medical technologies, for the benefit of children across the province. Once again this year, an impressive number of business leaders and executives came out to support the cause.
The goal – Play in a golf tournament at the prestigious Club Laval-sur-le-Lac to support the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation.
The cause – Raise funds for Sainte-Justine’s highest-priority needs and fellowship grant program.
The inspiration – Rally the business community to transform the future of pediatric care.
The people – Over 200 golfers.
The fundraising target – $1.6 million.
The final tally – A total of $2 million in donations, including $114,715 raised by the Young Professionals Committee, counting some 80 emerging business leaders and philanthropists.
Highlights:
- Pomerleau presented the event, which took place on June 20, 2022.
- Pierre Pomerleau and Julie Moisan served as Honorary Co-Chairs.
- This year’s ambassadors, the members of the Pelland-Normand family, raised an incredible $110,000, which will be used to purchase state-of-the-art obstetrical equipment. The family’s four children were treated at Sainte-Justine.
- Of the $2 million grand total, $115,335 went toward fellowship grants, which allow doctors from Quebec and abroad to specialize in all areas of pediatrics and provide an unparalleled level of care to families across the province and around the world.
- Since 1987, the Cachou Tournament has raised almost $20 million thanks to the generosity of golf lovers and networking enthusiasts.
